Ali received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Minnesota. After graduation, Ali worked as a therapist for autistic children solidifying her desire to further her career in therapy. Ali graduated from DePaul University, and received her Master’s degree in Community Counseling. At DePaul, Ali counseled adolescents at the Educational Counseling Center within DePaul University, providing social, academic and familial support. She also provided individual and group therapy, as well as DBT skill building to adults with severe mental illness at Trilogy, Inc. After graduate school, Ali became a counselor at Insight Behavioral Health Center’s residential facility providing support to people with eating disorders, as well as mood and anxiety disorders, utilizing her DBT and therapy skills. Ali’s diverse experiences have allowed her to help others find health and happiness through a holistic therapeutic approach. At Compass, Ali strives to help people feel empowered to make positive changes in their lives. Through Ali’s client-centered approach, she uses empathetic understanding to build upon ones’ strengths. Ali strives to provide an honest, caring, fun, and non-judgmental atmosphere that encourages clients to gain insight through exploration, thus creating change.
