Director of Education – Chicago

Ms. Recinto is a compassionate educator dedicated to supporting student needs by developing strong relationships- with students, families and school teams. During her teaching career, she taught for 8 years in the Chicago Public School District working as a Special Education Teacher.  She has worked with diverse learners spanning from kindergarten through high school in both the resource and inclusive classrooms. Prior to working at Compass, she also served as an Educational Specialist for a therapeutic day school for students with emotional disabilities, learning disabilities and other health impairments located in Glenview, Illinois.  Ms. Recinto is a proponent for students becoming more independent through the development of executive functioning and self-advocacy skills.

Ms. Recinto earned her M.A.T in Special Education at National Louis University in 2006 and M.Ed in Educational Organization & Leadership at the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana in 2009. In 2017, she achieved her National Board Certification in Teaching (NBCT) as an Exceptional Needs Specialist certified to serve students ranging from early childhood through young adulthood.
