Emily is an exposure therapist in the Complex Anxiety Disorders and OCD track. She received her BA in Psychology and Journalism and her MSW, with a medical concentration, from Dominican University in River Forest. Her foundation year field placement was at Youth Services of Glenview/Northbrook (YSGN) where she worked with children and adolescents in both a group and individual setting, incorporating community outreach initiatives. While at YSGN, Emily co-led a weekly Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) group, completing all four modules during her training year. She completed her concentration year field placement at Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital in the School Anxiety/School Refusal (SASR) Program, which is a subset of the Center for Anxiety and Obsessive Compulsive Disorders Program. In the SASR program, Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) were used to address sources of anxiety and/or refusal in order to allow for a successful return to school. Emily is fluent in Polish and has experience translating clinical paperwork as well as conducting individual and family therapy in Polish. She believes in developing strong rapport with her clients and the members of their various support systems in order to collectively work to confront anxiety in a holistic manner.
