Ms. Kapsimalis is a certified secondary English teacher and school counselor. She earned her bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and two masters’ degrees from Northeastern, one in linguistics and the other in school counseling.
She has worked in the education field in various capacities for twenty years. The majority of her career was spent in public schools as a high school English teacher, school counselor and department chairperson in Chicago Public Schools. In 2011, she moved to the private sector and worked as a tutoring director for Chicago Academic. Ms. Kapsimalis joined the education team at Compass in 2013 as a teacher in the adolescent Partial Hospitalization Program. She assists students with their educational needs during their time at Compass, as well as when they are transitioning back to school.
