Adolescent Milieu Therapist
Lauren earned her Master’s degree in clinical social work from the University of Chicago and her Bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Michigan. During her graduate studies, Lauren gained valuable clinical experience working with adolescents and young adults in the mental health field. While at the YMCA’s Youth Safety and Violence Prevention program, Lauren supported adolescents impacted by community violence through group therapy, including narrative therapy groups and yoga groups. She then worked at Northwestern Medicine’s outpatient mental health clinic doing both individual and group therapy with clients struggling with mental health disorders. Lauren understands the individuals she works with through a relational, attachment-based lens and uses third wave behavioral perspectives, such as DBT and ACT, to help them create positive change in their lives. Lauren hopes to help her clients gain a better understanding of themselves through self-exploration and curiosity while supporting them in learning different skills to help them live more intentional, balanced lives.
