Clinical Coordinator of Young Adult Substance Use Track
Lauren received her BS in psychology and criminal justice from Lewis University and her Master of Social Work from University of Illinois at Chicago, with an emphasis on child and family care. She maintains a license of Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC). Lauren has specialized in substance use disorders in adolescents, young adults and adults, and has completed trauma work with adolescents as well. She is trained in EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing). She has conducted individual, group and family work at Northwest Community Hospital, Department of Children and Family Services, Four Oaks and Chicago Behavioral Hospital. She uses approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, as well as abstinence and harm reduction models. Lauren strives to help patients develop, achieve and maintain their goals for treatment, along with supporting them as they become their best selves.
