Lesley Hawley Reagan has a doctorate in Art Therapy from Mount Mary University and a Master’s degree in Art Therapy from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She has worked with children, youth and families in a wide variety of settings that include group home, residential treatment and inpatient psychiatric care.
Dr. Reagan approaches the therapeutic process with creativity and trusts that each individual’s interests are avenues for expression and healing. She believes that the creative process offers engagement in therapeutic work that is beyond language. Her compassionate and collaborative approach to problem solving behavioral and interpersonal challenges invites discovery and expands resilience.
Her work with individuals, groups and families is guided by a relational approach that is rooted in the belief that relationships and connection with others are an integral part of being a healthy and whole person. She believes that in order to connect with individuals it is important to understand their family, community and culture. Dr. Reagan is an advocate for the de-stigmatization of mental health issues and strives to help people normalize their experience, engage with others and love themselves by recognizing their unique gifts and challenges.
