Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner – Northbrook
Lori Moreno, APN grew up in Chicago and attended college at Loyola University Chicago and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from the University of St. Francis in Joliet. She began her nursing career on a specialized inpatient adolescent and young adult psychiatric unit, as a Psychiatric Nurse for over 5 years before beginning her career as a Nurse Practitioner. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing (M.S.N) from Rush University in Chicago and is an ANCC Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who is able to provide a full spectrum of mental health care across the lifespan. Lori completed her psychiatric training at both Northshore University Healthsystem and Alexian Brothers. She began her career as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at Alexian Brothers where in collaboration with their medical director started their ambulatory detoxification program. She also continued to exercise her educator role as a clinical preceptor to nursing students. She has experience in diagnosing and treating a variety of mental health needs ranging from mood disorders, anxiety, depression, psychotic disorders, and substance abuse and dependence. Lori has specialty training in the diagnosing and treatment of child and adolescent mental health issues including, but not limited to ADHD and behavioral disturbances. She values working in collaboration with her clients and their families to establish an individualized treatment plan to achieve wellness through psychoeducation, psychotherapy, and medication management.
