Adolescent Primary Clinical Therapist
Mrs. Thies is a licensed clinical social worker and a certified alcohol and drug counselor. She began her social work career in substance abuse prevention, working with schools, agencies, and the community at large to implement policies and practices to reduce youth substance use. Mrs. Thies earned a Master’s degree in Social Work from Loyola University of Chicago, and a Bachelor of Arts from Boston College. Her clinical experience includes work at PEER Services, Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation, Evanston Township High School, and NorthShore University HealthSystem. Mrs. Thies believes passionately in the empathic treatment of adolescents, young adults, and families working through dual diagnoses of mood and substance use disorders. She strives to educate and collaborate, cultivating pre-existing strengths and creating space for each individual’s most adaptive coping.
