Back / Substance Use Primary Clinical Therapist

Compass Health Center is seeking a Primary Clinical Therapist for our Substance Use Program within our Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Programs in our Northbrook office. This program primarily treats young adults and adults aged 18 and over.

We are seeking an experienced clinician/psychologist with a passion for delivering evidence-based therapy to young adults and adults with a variety of mental health needs including substance use. If you are passionate about working with patients to communicate, develop and carry out appropriate treatment plans and compassionate care, you would be an ideal addition to our team.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Complete initial intake evaluation to determine diagnosis and appropriateness of program
  • Coordinate care with patients’ outside providers to ensure continuity of care
  • Provide individual therapy
  • Assess patients’ progress and need for higher level of care, transition plan and/or discharge
  • Communicate with patients’ family members or support system as needed
  • Chart progress of patients appropriately
  • Provide insurance utilization team with updates
  • Facilitate group therapy and family therapy as needed
  • Complete discharge paperwork
  • Participate in professional development activities

You would be the ideal candidate, if you:

  • Are a Psychologist or Master’s level clinician with 2-3 + years of clinical experience conducting intake assessments, individual, and group therapy in a substance based program.
  • Hold the following licenses or certifications: PhD, PsyD, LCSW, LCPC or CADC
  • Have knowledge and experience of group dynamics utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), as well as other empirically supported treatments
  • Have previous experience with patients in crisis
